The Institute of Event Management is the professional body for all those who create and deliver opportunities for people to participate in an event to meet audience and stakeholder needs to achieve economic, professional, social or community objectives. Routes to recognition are via accreditation of an existing qualification, experience [taking account of work roles and years of service] or on the job training eg apprenticeship.The Institute will provide access to a body of knowledge and opportunities for continuing professional development.An Events Sector matrix has been prepared to provide information on the scale and scope of the sector to enable a better understanding for all who may have to organise events. The Institute will be an important resource of information on all aspects of events.
