A world reference Center in research, diagnosis and treatment, the Sleep Institute, from AFIP, Associação Fundo de Incentivo à Pesquisa, is a pioneer in Brazil. Since its foundation in 1992, conducts multidisciplinary research, to better identify and treat the sleep disorders that affect the population.The history of sleep studies in AFIP, however, began in the 70s with the publication of the doctoral thesis of Professor Sergio Tufik, president of the institution.
