Our belief is that the most effective approach is one tailored to the specific, functional, day-to-day needs of each individual while keeping their maximum independent potential in mind. Each client and therapist should have a clear understanding of the goals for treatment. Speech-Language Pathology is a dynamic process that requires a relationship between therapist and client. Our therapists strive to provide an environment of caring, acceptance, trust and encouragement to our clients, thier families and caregivers. Our speech-language pathologists use a variety of approaches to assist clients in reaching their goals. These include traditional articulation techniques (eg, Van Riper, phonetic placement, multi-sensory stimulation), PROMPT, phonological disorders (eg, Cycles, Minimal Pairs), language disorders (eg, scaffolding, structured play) social communication (eg, Social Thinking; cognitive behavioral techniques), social skills groups, and augmentative and alternative communication devices.
