The Intelligent Computer Aided Stamping System (ICASS) developed by Intellicass precisely controls the forces a blank-holder applies on the sheet of metal at multiple locations. The system then adjusts these forces during the stamping cycle in order to eliminate forming defects. The technology enables significant material savings in the manufacture of stamped metal parts by allowing the part to be made from smaller sheets, and also by reducing the scrap rate from defective parts.
