The centre of expertise Interaction Design IXD is a research chair at Fontys School of Information and Communication Technology, department of Fontys University of Applied Sciences, Eindhoven, The Netherlands. The research chair was installed on September 1st, 2015 with a projected end term on August 31st, 2023 and a mid term evaluation in September 2019.The aims and ambitions of Interaction Design were presented by professor Mark de Graaf in his inaugural speech on October 16th, 2016. Interaction Design is involved in various funded research projects and two permanent research themes of its own. Interaction Design is also associated with the annual GLOW light festival event in Eindhoven. Progress on all fields is documented on this website, www.ixdfontysict.nl.Fontys School for Information and Communication Technology has over 300 staff and 3500 students. The aim of Interaction Design IXD is to involve a large group of students and lecturers in IXD research projects. The current situation is that every educational semester 80 up to 100 students participate in research projects together with some 20 lecturers.
