Interactive Media Showcase Details
Run as an annual public and industry-attended event, the Showcase is held at the University of York and proudly displays the work of students across its Interactive Media BSc and Masters by Research programmes. It is part of the York Festival of Ideas and is held in parallel with the university's LUMA Film Festival and the Theatre Summer Productions to form an annual summer celebration of media, technology, and performance. The Showcase offers a wide range of work, such as virtual reality experiences, games, and mobile apps, and attracts visitors from the media, creative, and technology industries, as well as students, academics, and the general public.The 2019 Interactive Media Showcase hosted several high-profile guests such as Charles Cecil MBE (Managing Director of Revolution Software), Professor Marian Ursu (Director of the Digital Creativity Labs), and Heather Niven (Head of Science City York) as esteemed judges at the Showcase gala awards evening.
