Through the collaboration of local faith communities, Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Gainesville provides homeless children and their families with compassionate care that includes case management, education, housing, meals and transportation until they can transition to a home of their own.Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Gainesville (IHN) is a nonprofit organization created to provide shelter and comprehensive support for homeless families with children.IHN unites and coordinates the collaborative efforts of volunteers from all faiths to shelter and feed homeless families. Families are housed in area houses of worship, where congregation members provide meals, transportation, and companionship for the guest families.Staff members of IHN oversee the network and also provide comprehensive case management, including counseling as well as assistance in locating jobs, medical care, day care and school placement, and ultimately affordable housing. Each night in Gainesville more than 1,000 people have no place to call home. Approximately one third of these are members of families with children. Families with children are the invisible constituents of homelessness. We believe no child should be homeless.
