Interfilm was founded in 1981 in Easley, SC. By 1988, the headquarters facility and plant in Easley occupied 33,000 sq. ft. Over the next several years, Interfilm grew into one of the leading PET (polyester) film converters and distributors for industrial markets. This growth required that the headquarters and plant facility in SC be expanded by 33,000 sq. ft. to a total of 66,000 sq. ft. In 1996, Interfilm was purchased by new management, who immediately pursued the growth strategy of product line expansion, increased sales exposure and acquisitions. During the summer of 1996, Interfilm acquired the Robert Williams Company, founded in 1957. Robert Williams had manufacturing plants in Glastonbury, CT and Lemont, IL, and concentrated on converting and distributing OPS (polystyrene) film for the envelope market as well as PET (polyester) and OPP (polypropylene) films for the folding carton market. Interfilm blended the two companies and offered a wider product range, more slitting capabilities, optimum sales coverage and more efficient operations. Interfilm opened an additional site in Ontario, CA in the fall of 1997 because of growing needs of customers on the west coast. Due to growth in volume, this plant was expanded twice to its current size and location in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. The most recent acquisition for Interfilm was the purchase of Brushfoil, LLC in the fall of 2007. Brushfoil is a manufacturer and supplier of a variety of films with applications in the graphic arts, label, signage and product identification industries. Their proprietary process gives the ordinary graphic films a brushed or scratched effect that, when metalized, has the rich appearance of stainless steel. These films have been used to improve the appearance of millions of products such as pressure sensitive labels, POP displays, automotive trim, appliance parts and door, desk and trophy nameplates. Today, Interfilm converts and distributes products into six different markets, has seven full-time account managers strategically placed throughout the country, five manufacturing facilities totaling 258,000 sq. ft., in-house customer service departments, 10 warehouses and 125 employees. These resources make Interfilm capable of providing outstanding service to its customers throughout the United States, Canada and abroad. With its precision slitting capabilities, exceptional quality, on-time delivery and competitive pricing, Interfilm is one of the largest and most diversified slitter distributors of thin gauge films in the market.
