ICAfrica - is a Canadian NGO which started working in 2007 to fight extreme poverty in Africa through enterprise development. The main cause of poverty for millions of people are lack of jobs and micro-business start-up capital. So we offer micro-credit (starting with $50 in revolving loans) and business coaching to the poorest but struggling entrepreneurs, especially women in the villages. We thereby help them to grow their tiny businesses, increase their daily profits, immediately boost their family incomes, often from $3 to over $6 a day which consequently moves their families above the poverty line of $1.20 per person per day. Citizens of the World Participation: Through our micro-credit program, working individuals worldwide can directly offer 12-month Refundable Loans to individual African entrepreneurs (see http:www.icafrica.com/DRL.html ). ICAfrica is currently run by volunteers and has operations in Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda and Kenya.http://www.icafrica.com.
