Civic & Social Organization - Washington, District of Columbia, United States
The iLCP was established in 2005 with the goal of enlisting the skills and expertise of some of the best photographers in the world to advance conservation efforts around the globe. A project-driven organization, we partner with leading conservation groups, scientists, policy makers, and government leaders in order to produce high-quality documentary images that depict both the beauty and wonder of the natural world, and the challenges it faces. Today, the iLCP is a prestigious Fellowship whose reach has expanded to address the communications challenges of the conservation community at large. With its foundation firmly established in still photography, the iLCP has created and developed a host of communications tools that take advantage of modern means of communication, social networking, and more importantly, that provide effective solutions for conservation messaging. The iLCP's mission is to further environmental and cultural conservation through ethical photography. We believe that awe-inspiring photography is a powerful tool in preserving the environment, especially when produced in collaboration with our committed Conservation Partners. We aim to replace environmental indifference with a new culture of stewardship and passion for our beautiful planet.
