INGSA is a collaborative platform for policy exchange, capacity building and research across diverse global science advisory organizations and national systems. Through workshops, conferences and a growing catalogue of tools and guidance, the network aims to enhance the global science-policy interface to improve the potential for evidence-informed policy formation at both national and transnational levels.The mission of the International Network for Government Science Advice (INGSA) is to provide a forum for policy makers, practitioners, national academies, and academics to share experience, build capacity and develop theoretical and practical approaches to the use of scientific evidence in informing policy at all levels of government.Its primary focus is on the place of science in public policy formation rather than advice on the structure and governance of public science and innovation systems.It operates through:Exchanging lessons, evidence and new concepts through conferences, workshops and a website;Collaborating with other organisations where there are common or overlapping interests;Assisting the development of advisory systems through capacity-building workshops;Producing articles and discussion papers based on comparative research into the science and art of scientific advice.INGSA operates under the auspices of the International Science Council (https://council.science/), which acts as trustee of INGSA funds and hosts its governance committee. INGSA's secretariat is hosted by the University of Auckland in New Zealand. We have regional chapters in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
