Aligning with the national and global nutritional goals, BIID Foundation introduced Nutrition Clubs (NCs)since 2015 to provide adolescents and youth with a platform to improve their nutritionknowledge, foster good food habits, and disseminate nutrition knowledge within theirand households, schools and communities along with undertaking nutrition relevantactions.To bring youth and adolescents at national level to demonstrate Nutrition Club knowledge and to build andextend their network, the Nutrition Olympiad began in 2017 by BIID. Youth and adolescents participate inthe Nutrition Olympiad, the successive 4 years (2017-2020) had triggerednational attention to focus on adolescent nutrition. To scale up the NutritionOlympiad at global level, BIID Foundation formed an Advisory Committeeand scheduled to launch the 1st International Nutrition Olympiad in 2021.Positively this step got aligned with the UN Food Systems Summit 2021 and Tokyo Nutrition for Growth(N4G) Summit to be held in December 2021.BIID has signed a series of MoU with various government agencies, development partners, researchorganizations & academia, international NGOs and private sector to organize Nutrition Olympiad over theyears. Now exploring broader partnership with relevant stakeholders to make the International NutritionOlympiad impactful and sustainable.
