Government Administration - The Hague, South Holland, Netherlands
Many students enter into our programme with the belief that they can change the world. While we appreciate this approach, we strive to educate students to become practical idealists – to find tangible and actionable solutions which they can one day implement as public servants. International Public Management (IPM) therefore helps foster students' critical and reflective attitudes towards society, exposing them to a range of pressing issues and helping them think critically and analytically. In the first year, students engage in a range of subjects required by the field of Public Management, including (but not limited to): economics, international law, sociology and public management. In year two students will begin to practically apply this knowledge within the context of group projects and case studies whereby international political cases are addressed. The last two years of the programme grapple with cases that government institutions and multinationals struggle with at present. The latter is achieved through an applied research module in year three and an internship and thesis in year four.
