The International Time Capsule Society (ITCS) is an organization established in 1990 to promote the careful study of time capsules. It strives to document all types of time capsules throughout the world, and to make this information accessible to the public.The International Time Capsule Society has documented many thousands of time capsules for over thirty years. The group was founded and headquartered at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia where the Crypt of Civilization, regarded as the original time capsule, was sealed in 1937 to be opened in 2537 .The ITCS is currently digitizing all of the time capsule records in its holdings into the International Time Capsule Registry and preserving the records in the NotForgotten library depository.Time capsule technology is a core part of the current committees focus - including the application of artificial intelligence, genealogy, and storage mediums to time capsule science.OUR MISSION. Est 1990- To maintain a registry of timed events of all known time capsules.- To establish a clearing house for information about time capsules.- To encourage study of the technology, history, variety, and motivation behind time capsule projects.- To educate the general public and the academic community concerning the value of time capsules.- To maintain and share a global directory of time capsule interested parties
