The Internet of People (IoP) is a digital cooperative which leverages peer-to-peer technology and blockchain in order to create a network which liberates its users. It allows for full privacy and ownership of data, as well as direct person-to-person communication and interaction - cutting out malicious or unnecessary middlemen. We are a group of future thinkers, innovators, idealists, and entrepreneurs, consisting of many different backgrounds. IoP stands for freedom and privacy. We envision a world where people are in control of their lives and own themselves, and are no longer subject to the manipulative or extortionate forces of centralized entities, such as big data corporations. We inverse the current model and allow you to be in control of yourself on the web, and even give the ability to monetize your own data. IoP's unique organizational structure allows for a direct value-based ecosystem and decentralization of work on the project. Our decentralized structure allows for teams or "chapters" to be run independently of one another, all over the globe, while all still collaborating and working towards one main vision and goal. The South USA chapter strives to empower people, embrace sustainability, and build a better future for our region, which in turn will benefit the world. We do this by using IoP's core infrastructure to benefit people and businesses in our region through education, network adoption, building beneficial and useful applications, collaborating with sustainable or community-driven projects, and creating opportunities for people based on value-centered models. IoP USA South chapter is always looking for bright, talented, and future thinking men and women of various backgrounds.
