Devens IOP is a non-profit corporation that leverages the unique characteristics and Boston-area proximity of the Devens technology community to assist both large and small companies in the field testing and commercialization of robots and unmanned vehicles. The unique geography of Devens allows air/land/marine machine-to-machine interoperability testing, and the small residential community enables robot-to-human interactivity research and enhancement. The Devens campus is a perfect setting for STEM and FIRST K-12 programs, university educational programs/internships, student and startup robot challenges, plus the annual Devens Robotica field expo for commercial and military robots/UMVs. Devens' metrowest location is convenient to companies based in New England and the Northeast (including NY and eastern Canada) for robot-related testing projects, working in collaboration with NERVE and NUAIR.
