INTRAS (Research Institute on Traffic and Road Safety) is an interdisciplinary research center at the University of Valencia (UV) devoted to scientific and applied research. Our aim is to stimulate innovation in the field of road safety and traffic accidents through training, counselling and development. We aim to achieve so by emphasizing the human factors involved in the driver´s behavior in connection with the vehicle, the available infrastructures and police controls.The INTRAS (research group) was established by the decree-law 105/1995 of the Generalitat Valenciana, published on 16th of May 1995 under the University Reform Law. Nowadays, the INTRAS is regulated by the Spanish Organic Law on University published on 2001, as well as by the Statutes of the University of Valencia of 2004.The INTRAS team is currently comprised of teachers and researchers coming from diverse departments of the University of Valencia. In addition the team is equipped with its own research, administrative and technical staff.
