IoT Maritime – an online marketplace, which matches supersize cargoes, such a drilling rigs and barges with specific transportation vessels, such as tugs and semi-submersible heavy lift vessels – is a spin-off company created by;(1) Nordsund, (www.nordsund.com), a traditional shipbroker specialising in offshore and heavy lift projects, and (2) CON-LINQ, (www.con-linq.com), a company specialising in optimisation of processes by implementing IT solutions within the freight forwarding business. IoT Maritime is using state of the art satellite data from close orbit nano satellites to track the movement of transportation vessels, as well as in-depth knowledge about vessel specifications to determine the perfect match between the cargo and the transportation vessel.
