The Iowa Health Information Network (IHIN) is the official statewide HIE in the state of Iowa. IHIN targets to improve care, increase security, promote cost savings, streamline treatment, and reduce medical errors through the secure exchange of electronic health information. IHIN will support improvement in the Healthcare Delivery System in Iowa by striving to meet Triple Aim Goals - improve the patient experience, improve the population's health and reduce health care cost per capita. This goes along with our operating principles to align with National Standards and continue with our strong commitment to HIPAA and protecting patient privacy, and security. We pledge to offer exceptional customer/client services and operate an accountable and transparent organization. Our vision is to make the IHIN the preferred way for all providers to meet federal and state reporting requirements, including quality measures and assist providers in meeting meaningful use requirements. IHIN's long-term vision is to establish a state-of-the-art Health Information Exchange by 2020, providing all HIE services to healthcare providers across Iowa; and to be positioned to add new and/or expanded services that increase value to the participants, improve patient outcomes and lower costs. We will expand IHIN participant services, add new, value added services/applications and expand our number of participants to help us attain our vision.
