The Irish Apostolate USA is the response of the Irish and American Catholic Bishops to the needs of Irish immigrants in the United States. The services offered at various centers across the country centers bring together the goodwill and talents of many, lay and religious, some Irish, Irish Americans and Americans of varying ethnic backgrounds.While responding to the needs of Irish immigrants in the United States, the Irish Apostolate USA recognized the difficult situation many immigrants faced due to their undocumented status. Irish Apostolate USA is therefore a core member of the Justice for Immigrants campaign, led by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops. Since its involvement in the campaign, the Irish Apostolate advocates on behalf of its member centers and the immigrants they serve at the national level, and disseminates relevant advocacy information to the member centers so that they can engage in advocacy efforts at the local level.
