Iron City Oxidations (ICO) was formed 2018 to protect human health and the environment by destroying harmful contaminants on surfaces and in the air and water. We are evaluating the cleaning of surface contaminations such as household mold and mold stains, the decontamination of industrial wastewaters including the waters produced in unconventional natural gas development, and the treatment of municipal wastewater. Our principal technology is a series of patent-pending oxidation catalysts, which were invented at Carnegie Mellon University's Institute for Green Science. When combined with small amounts of an oxidant, which is usually hydrogen peroxide, tiny amounts of the catalysts create ‘fire in water' to ‘burn' targets across a variety of conditions including neutral pH and room temperature. ICO is an American-based company that produces the catalysts, develops the commercial applications, provides development partners catalyst for field trials, assesses the value propositions, and distributes the final products worldwide.
