Iron Matrix is an innovative construction technology that replaces traditional cladding and roofing materials with standard solar panels to create structures that can generate and store energy cheaper than fossil fuels.Patented modular steel frames are built from just two repeating structural steel parts, specifically designed to be made from local materials, manufactured by robots and flat-packed into shipping containers.As few as two people can build multi-story buildings by hand without cranes, scaffolding or earth works on any range of challenged, remote or environmentally sensitive sites. Structures can be easily expanded, reconfigured and relocated at any time. The hollow steel parts store excess energy generated in a thermal water system at half the cost of batteries.The combination of low energy manufacturing and assembly, lower cost storage and zero incremental cost electricity generation means Iron Matrix structures can displace traditional carbon-based energy sources.
