Irrational Innovations is the first Africa-focused venture builder. We invest and build inclusive FinTech startups with disruptive technologies by leveraging proprietary behavioral insights. By merging behavioral insights and financial technologies, we developed a unique customer-centric approach to providing finance for the emerging middle class.FinTech has the potential to meet the needs of an historically under-serviced market - the unbanked; While an efficient financial sector is essential to a well-functioning economy, in most of SSA it has not been financially viable for banks to offer last-mile services and 80% of the population do not use formal or semi-formal financial services. The vast penetration of mobile and broadband networks presents great opportunities for FinTech ventures in a variety of sectors such as banking, credit, insurance, underwriting, payments and remittance, among others. Our technological solutions will be easily accessible, user friendly and tailored to the needs of the emerging middle class - Lowering the barriers to entry and increasing financial inclusion will boost productivity, create new employment opportunities and improve access to healthcare, education and other services.
