Island Genetics is a cannabis genetics company focused on the breeding and preservation of exotic cultivars & classic hybrids.Island Genetics began in 2013 as a research project for Davis Allen to treat his chronic stomach disorder, due to the lack of information readily available on cannabis. Since receiving an MMAR license, Davis has developed a genetic library consisting of exotic heirloom strains and hybrids originating from around the globe in search for different varieties that can provide relief to his condition. Over time, the project has developed into a research and development company with a focus on building a genetic library with an interest in unique terpene and cannabinoid profiles that can be of valuable medical and recreational use. Island Genetics currently holds over 45 different strains originating from around the globe and is currently creating selections of plants for breeding programs to create new hybrids and preservation of exotic heirloom strains. Island Genetics is currently working on R&D doing lab testing for genetic markers to better understand the framework, origin and chemical content of the various heirloom and hybrid strains while building a detailed data set of their genetic library.
