Hospitality - Friday Harbor, Washington, United States
The right pace at the right time; The Island Inn at 123 West offers the newest INN Friday Harbor lodging and San Juan Island hotels. Dress us up or dress us down. You'll dig our contemporary style that nods to maritime gone by. Penthouses are fun for families, groups and splurges, Euros are best if you roll with less, and Sweets find that spot right in between each. Our site was originally a fuel and oil storage facility for the fishing fleet, ferry and cannery. After plenty of studying, we voted to liven up the hillside with connective spaces and progressively designed structures. We started blasting (a bit of an overstatement) in 2006 and put the finishing touches on a swanky mixed-use development project in 2009. What we now call our penthouses were listed for sale as condominiums for a spell before transitioning to vacation rentals in 2010. The Inn, and newest San Juan Island hotel as you see it today kicked off in 2011. We kicked things up while keeping features like open decks reminiscent of historic front porches plus ship ladders and roof decks that recall our industrial past. We're Silver LEED Certified and really proud of our green Friday Harbor hotel. We funnel rainwater to a center runnel where it's stored for irrigation in a tank similar to what would have been found at the original oil storage facility. We've also handpicked smart products to pamper you and our environment throughout your stay. Most important, our coffee is a custom blend roasted just a few miles from the Island Inn at 123 West by San Juan Roasters right here inn Friday Harbor, WA. We package our beans with recyclable materials and have drastically reduced our carbon footprint by getting a little help from our Island neighbors.
