What happens when five women meet on a beautiful Scottish island and become fast friends? Why, they decide to launch a gin distillery of course! Sharing a passion for our amazing island home and our community, we felt that Cumbrae was crying out for a gin distillery. Thousands of visitors flock to Millport each year to enjoy the seaside lifestyle, festivals, walking, cycling and many other visitor activities. Isle of Cumbrae Distillers will be more than about buying gin. We believe we can create a gin "experience", something that is compellingly different and something that will draw old and new visitors to the island…and a reason to visit Millport, rain or shine, summer or winter. In addition to selling gin, both in Millport and across the UK, we intend to enhance the experience and engage with consumers with a unique historical tour as part of a tasting opportunity.
