Food & Beverages - , Bali, Indonesia
Balita started in 2009, with the acquisition of a small local vineyard in Umanyar, Seririt, North Bali.Since then, Balita has been experimenting new grape-growing techniques specifically designed for tropical climates, with the support of consulting specialist from Italy. In March of 2014, Balita renovated extensively the winemaking facilities in Tajun (Buleleng) bringing brand new top-of-the-line Italian imported winemaking equipment. The new state-of-the art facility in Tajun is located in a stunning "old Bali" landscape, just north of Kintamani; the Balita vineyards are located in the Seririt farming district, all with breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains. Balita has produced so far only small test batches of its Isola label - red and rosé wines made from both the local grapes traditionally grown in Bali and the very first harvests of Italian imported grapevines. 2014 Isola Rose' test batches are available now, while Balita 2014 Red test batches require more aging, and will be available around July-August 2015. A first test batch of Isola White will be made in May 2015 and available for sampling in November 2015.- All Balita grapes are farmed exclusively under the strict management of the Balita Team in accordance with Italian winemaking standards.
