The San Siro Clinical Institute has begun its activity in 1957, becoming part of the Gruppo Ospedaliero San Donato in 1989. It is accredited by the Regional Health System (SSR) of Lombardy. Certified in accordance to the UNI EN ISO 9001 standards since 2000, the San Siro Clinical Institute has been distinguished over the years for its orthopaedic and rehabilitative aptitude. The Center for Surgical Haemorrhoids and Knee Surgery as well as the Center for Medical Surgery are points of excellence for clinical treatment of progressive joint diseases, when conservative pharmacological and physiotherapeutic treatments do not prove themselves successful.Modern surgical techniques and the use of high durability and biocompatible materials, which are the Institute's specialist centers are equipped with, make it possible to obtain a lasting result that can relieve pain and restore mobility and articulation functionality.The Intensive Rehabilitation Unit, equipped with a new modern Physio Kinesis Therapy Service and a new area dedicated to a complex outpatient care, is a reference center for a high-standard rehabilitation and functional recovery of patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery.
