Computer & Network Security - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
A small tech start-up that aims to help the environment & society by repurposing old technology to students for an affordable price. This help improve our carbon footprint & reduce e-waste.There are many old computers out there that are no longer being used once the owner upgrades it. Some computers end-up with 2nd hand buyers but then there's also a significant proportion of ex-lease equipment that ends up sitting in warehouses unused or due to the age are ready for disposal. These machines are perfectly capable of having a few parts upgraded and being repurposed for another few years. However due to the labour costs involved, this ends up not being a viable option to big businesses and medium-sized ex-lease companies.ITxD solves this by purchasing these machines and giving them a new life by refurbishing them with new parts and repurposing them to potential buyers over the eBay Marketplace Platform. Our efforts have lead myself to attaining eBay's Top-Rated seller award. In addition, ITxD also acts as a charitable organisation by working with other charitable organisations towards donating computers to students in need in developing nations in Asia (Sri Lanka, India) and also Central Africa (DR. Congo). This is an attempt to promote E-Learning facilities worldwide and not just geo-specific to developed nations. My initial mission is to deploy 1,000 laptops to those in need around developing nations by 2025. Every small step counts!
