Entertainment/Media - Providence, RI, US
The Ivy Film Festival (IFF) is the largest student-run film festival in the world and offers students from domestic and foreign universities a venue to exhibit their work. Founded in 2001 by David Peck and Justin Slosky, the festival occurs annually in the spring, spans a full week, and is held at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Each year, filmmakers and enthusiasts from around the world flock to Brown to attend keynote speeches, panels and workshops by entertainment industry professionals, student film screenings, pre-release screenings, receptions and parties. Past industry guests have included Jack Nicholson, Martin Scorsese, Oliver Stone, Wes Anderson, Adrien Brody, Laura Linney, Wes Craven, Park Chan-wook, Aaron Sorkin, James Franco, and Lena Dunham, among many others. The festival features four separate student competitions, each with its own individual awards: the domestic undergraduate film competition; the graduate school film competition; the international film competition; and the screenplay competition.
