JD Centre of Art (JDCA) has nurtured a vision to create an Art Centre that preserves and promotes contemporary and traditional arts breaking its traditional boundaries. Based in Bhubaneswar, state capital of Odisha in eastern India, the Centre though not yet built has had active programming since 2001 with an annual Film Festival on Art and Artists, monthly ‘Meet the Artists' programme, seminars workshops, educational and outreach activities. The Centre is driven by Jatin Das, its Founder and Chairman, a contemporary artist conferred with Padma Bhushan, who was born in Odisha. The construction of JDCA has begun from October 2014. Its first block of 30.000 square feet will be ready by 2017. JDCA is designed by one of India's most respected architects, BV Doshi, and will be a landmark building for its contemporary and responsible design. The Centre currently operates from its camp office in Bhubaneshwar and Jatin Das's studio in Delhi.
