Introducing the J Lock, a brand new spring loaded mortise door bolt. This new take on the traditional rack bolt features a simplified design that's easy and secure to use. The 'J' shape allows the bolt to be held retracted, while a strong spring extends the bolt into the jamb.The fully mortised design means that the bolt is incredibly strong. However,espite this strength, the J Lock is surprisingly easy to install. Using just some spade drill bits and a screwdriver, the J Lock can be installed in just six minutes. First drilling a 5mm hole for the lock collar. Then a 16mm hole for the rest of the housing. Finally a 35mm hole in the face of the door for the J plate. Then the assembly is screwed into place. An accurate installation is ensured via a template that's part of the instructions. Right now the J Lock comes in satin stainless steel and with a 10-year warranty. The barrel bolt can be used in many places. But it's ideal for use on double doors, pivot doors, bi-folding doors, sliding doors or on the slave leaf on double doors.
