Jadavpur University has always manifested a culture of promoting academic excellence beyond the realm of prescribed learning, in the form of a number of student club activity sessions and events. Over the years, the student community has been actively engaged in taking up the initiative to carry on this spirit of holistic learning, all while respecting the vast of multitude of opinions that persists across the campus, thus paving the path for a Model United Nations conference to be organized. Having won the best delegation award at numerous conferences, including prominent ones such as KIITMUN, RUMUN, AmityMUN and so on, this new generation of the Jadavpur University Debating Society is now set on offering a valuable learning experience on their home ground. The diligent efforts and heart-warming team-work of individuals, who are more a family than a mere college club, helps shape up the conference known nationwide as JUMUN. From committees discussing the legal instruments for upholding women's rights, to ones addressing the situations of international security, we are certain that JUMUN 2022 will be home to three constructive days of debate.Over the past year and a half, we have seen the pandemic cripple the entire world, with nations having to rely on each other for advancement of scientific studies and vaccine development research. At the same time, we all witnessed the tragedy engulfing our neighboring nation, with the citizens now left to fend for themselves all alone, only with the faint glimmer of hope promised by the ongoing and upcoming negotiations. While ultimately it's the responsibility of the nations to carry on these diplomatic efforts, the instigation begins at the grassroots level. And that is exactly what our conference aims to do- instill a sense of responsibility and understanding, for the current events unfolding around the globe.
