Nonprofit Organization Management - Jaipur, Rajasthan, India
Jaipur Rugs Foundation, an integral part of Jaipur Rugs Group, was founded in 2004 under the Rajasthan Public Trust Act. JRF is known globally for its unique and inclusive business-development model linking grassroots artisans with the international market. ‘Engage-Develop-Sustain' is the crux of the Foundation. The real ‘foundation' of our foundation is the grassroots artisans. JRF lives, breathes and works for the betterment of their lives and future. ‘Transforming Lives, Creating Smiles' is the dictum we live by. We do not thrive on merely providing an employment for income's sake, but we build connections. We create bonds connecting hearts with the grassroots. Community happiness is our top priority. Apart from getting featured as a Case Study in C.K.Prahlad's ‘The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid', Jaipur Rugs has received numerous accolades and its model is constantly talked, researched and written about by a diverse set of stakeholders from the government, industry, media and academia. Rashmi Bansal's ‘Take Me Home', Ilay Cooper's ‘Rajasthan: Exploring Painted Shekhawati' G.P.Rao's ‘Humanizing Management' & Entrepreneur Magazine's ‘The flying Carpet'; are a few of the many popular features. JRF frequently conducts ground surveys and mobilization activities at the grassroots level to gather a clear insight about their necessities. The focus is mainly to build awareness and to motivate artisans to actively participate. Providing a fruitful skill training which leads to sustainable employment is the most crucial part of our efforts. We regularly conduct Weavers Engagement & training programs, workshops, health camps, facilitate provision of Government schemes and more in order to instill entrepreneurship ability amongst the artisans' community. Hence overall economic and social development of the grassroots is prime facet of our work.
