JAMEELA was incorporated in the year 1964 as a small retail shop at Manama Souq in Bahrain. The shop was started by late Mr.Jassim Almudaifa, the eldest brother of the Almudaifa family. Mr. Jassim was the founder of the company and had the vision of starting a firm to deal in beauty products. The name, JAMEELA means "Beautiful" in Arabic.Between the years 1964 to 1976, the company experienced a good growth and hence in 1977 two new branches were opened in two different important business centers at BAB-AL BAHRAIN and MUHARRAQ TOWN.Presently the company deals in a spectrum of products from the range of cosmetics, skin cares, perfumes, lingerie, jewellery, and other allied items. In order to have effective sales of such a vast range, the company has employed a highly skilled workforce, and has a sales turnover of U.S. Dollars Three Million. Products are mainly distributed in pharmacies, supermarkets, saloons, and boutiques The company also has a separate office for day-to-day management, and its forty-two staff presently includes Managers, Beauticians, Sales Staff, and Office Staff.The management to whom the business solely belongs take a special interest thus, the selection and marketing of products are being handled by the owners of the company.On 1st December 1992, the company had opened its largest branch in one of the most modern and leading business centers in Bahrain, called JAMEELA-ADLIYA. This center had geared and increased its turnover from Three Million U.S.Dollars to Five Million U.S. Dollars, and JAMEELA has the maximum outlets in comparison to her competitors.
