I am a Glasgow based artist and filmmaker who works across the fields of art and labour, creatively challenging issues of social conflict, addressing the structural and political inequalities governing international labour relations. My aim within my arts practice is to investigate and articulate social, environmental and ethical issues, exploring these complex issues through personal narrative. I have travelled and worked in Latin America and am fluent Spanish speaker. My art project, Green Gold, is a collaboration with Latin American banana workers and aims to raise awareness of their reality through testimony, portrait, installation and documentary film. As part of the project I have made two films, Bonita Ugly Bananas and Pura Vida - both have won awards and have been screened internationally.I have delivered courses and days schools on Cuban music and Latin American popular culture as well as having been involved in many community art projects throughout Scotland. My latest project was A documentary film "The Road to Drumleman", a testimony based film which tells the story of the Argyll Colliery in South Kintyre.
