Janet Hoffar is a Vancouver based photographer specializing in Sports, Food, and Travel for the Tourism and Hospitality industries. Janet gained interest in photography in the early 1990's, while shooting primarily on slide film, and transitioned into the digital SLR world shortly after, creating even more opportunity to explore without the 36 frames per roll limitation. She became a professional freelance photographer after many volunteer gigs in the early 2000's. Although she has and sometimes still shoots architectural, portrait, wedding and events, her focus is on travel, hospitality, food, and sports.Janet is an accredited sports photographer with Destination BC and has shot many local and international sporting events, including the: Harry Jerome Track Classic, Pat Quinn Classic (Ice Hockey), Rugby Pacific Nations Cup, Canadian University Rowing Championships, Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships, International Swim Meet at SFU, Raquetball Canadian National Championships, Canadian National Goal Ball (Special Olympic team), and the Quidditch Global Games.She has worked and continues to work with a number of municipal tourism boards, international hotels & resorts, restaurants, and various retailers and e-commerce stores; providing images for marketing and commercial use.
