The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. has recently opened the Extrusion Technical Center in Germany, right in the center of a completely new industrial park in Dusseldorf-Benrath. It is located just half a mile to the nearest motorway, 25 minutes to the airport or to the exhibition site where the K-shows take place and half an hour to an important polymer production area (Dormagen near Cologne). Extrusion Technical Center is now equipped with all high-end technology for R&D on extrusion processes, compounding, chemical reaction, dewatering, devolatilizstion etc. The latest type, the TEX44αIII twin-screw extruder – high torque density of 18.2 N/cm³ – is available for high-end compound trials. High torque makes it possible to operate the extruder with lower screw speed and, as a result, lower polymer temperature, and better product quality can be realized. In addition, a specialized TEX30α is ready for devolatilization trials in combination with the TEX44αIII.The Japan Steel Works, Ltd. was founded in 1907 as a joint venture between Britain's Armstrong Whitworth Co., Ltd., and Vickers Sons and Maxim, Ltd. with a focus on production of military equipment until the end of World War II. After the Second World War, JSW used our technologies to meet peacetime needs and branched out into new business fields such as materials and equipment for automobiles, electronics, shipbuilding and petrochemicals. Our focus has concentrated over the last three decades on proprietary specialty steels and steel products, plastics and other industrial machinery, military equipment and plant engineering. JSW's HQ is located in Tokyo, Japan, with approximately 20 plants and offices worldwide. JSW employs 2,500 people. For more please see our website: http://www.jsw.co.jp/en/ JSW is strengthening our global presence by developing the North American compounding extruder market with a full and permanent program.
