Learning My ABC's Literacy ProgramThe road to literacy involves learning letters (alphabets), syllables (phonemes), words (morphemes), and sentences, (semantics). My project, Learning My ABC's, seeks to fulfill one of first links in this literacy development process. Children who do not know their alphabets before starting kindergarten are less likely to develop the pre-reading skills necessary to succeed. Learning the alphabet is a pre-literacy skill essential to a child's educational success.I am requesting your financial support to publish my first book entitled Learning My ABC's aimed at preparing children ages 2-5 academically. The book includes a sing-a-long CD where the children can actively participate in learning their alphabets and sounds in a fun, interactive and engaging manner. This educational project combines the power of music, language arts and fun to promote the academic development for early learners.
