Jason is a seventh-generation Texan living in Austin. A lifetime of colorful characters and southern charm has shaped his voice. His poetry highlights this world's beauty and brokenness, and he often writes in themes of adventure, nostalgia, wanderlust, discovery, and everyday life. Jason sometimes locates his poetry in his home state, but he is also passionate about Latin America, using its people, places, and events as subjects. He currently publishes two newsletters and contributes to a weekly creative writing group led by musician Bob Schneider. His poems appear in anthologies, books, and newspapers, and he has presented at international literary festivals throughout the Americas. The Chilean Writers Society recognizes Jason as a member in honor of Nobel laureate Gabriela Mistral.
