Hospitality - Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom
We are a small independent and family-run craft microbrewery from Glasgow. Committed to bringing you top quality Scottish beers, we strive to diversify the craft beer offering as an upgrade to the proliferation of mass-produced blandness; using premium ingredients to create authentic, exceptional brews to excite and challenge your taste buds, refreshing your palate and leaving you wanting needing more.Jaw Brew was born in 2014 after co-founder Mark Hazell accepted voluntary redundancy and took the leap of faith into refining his home brew recipes in anticipation of going commercial. Being the first real ale brewery of its kind in Glasgow, Mark knew there was a market for his product that he had been brewing himself and serving to friends and family for many years. Drop and Drift were then launched in June 2014 as Jaw Brew's flagship beers. The name ‘Jaw Brew' was inspired by the Hazell's family home on the shores of Bardowie Loch –‘The Jaw'. Upon researching the origins of the name, it was discovered that ‘jaw' in auld Scots meant ‘a wave or rush of water' or else ‘to pour'. Further to this, there is reference in a poem from 1706 reading ‘Wha'll jaw ale on my drouthy tongue' sealing the deal and making the name go full circle. The logo is composed of a wave within a whale's jawbone arch inspired by the one at Bragar on the Isle of Lewis – the hometown of some of the Hazell family. The story behind our brand truly reflects the strong family culture we pride ourselves on at Jaw Brew, so we hope you enjoy our beers, brewed with love and a touch of magic in Glasgow.Slainte!
