The J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad formerly known as YMCA University of Science and Technology, was established as ‘YMCA Institute of Engineering' in the year 1969 as a joint venture of the National Council of YMCAs of India, Govt of Haryana and the Central Agencies for Development Aid, Bonn, Germany.It started as an Indo-German project with an aim to impart Technical Education and started offering Diploma Courses with an intake of 120 students. The Haryana Govt. provided a land of 20 Acres for the construction of teaching block, hostels and residential campus.The State Govt started funding 100% grant-in-aid to erstwhile YMCA Institute of Engineering w.e.f the year 1994 onwards and subsequently took over the management and the resources in the year 1998.The erstwhile YMCA Institute has been upgraded to the University by the Legislative Act 21 of 2009 w.e.f. 1.12.2009.The University offers 4-year B.Tech degree course in following disciplines i.e:1. Computer Engineering2. Computer Engineering with specialization in Data Science3. Information Technology4. Mechanical Engineering5. Electrical Engineering6. Electronics Engineering with specialization in Internet of Things (IoT)7. Electronics & Communication Engineering8. Electronics & Computer Engineering9. Civil EngineeringIn undergraduate programs, the University also offers B.Sc. (Hons.) in Physics, Chemistry & Math, BCA, BBA, B.A (Journalism & Mass Communication) and B.Sc. (Animation & Multimedia). In PG Programs, the University offers MCA, MBA, M.Tech. (all Engineering disciplines), M.Sc. (Physics, Chemistry, Environment Studies, Math, Bio-Technology, Botany, Zoology and Microbiology), MA (Journalism & Mass Communication and English)In Management Programs PG Level, the University offers - MBA (Financial, HR, Marketing), MBA (Retail, International Business, Financial & Marketing Management and MBA Executive - Weekend Programme. Also, offers Ph.D in all disciplines.
