I'm Jeffrey Ball, and I'm a Freelance Artist, based in St. John's, NL, Canada.I began specializing in pencil and charcoal portraits, and have been drawing with these, off and on, since about 1997. Portrait work remains my favorite subject. Over time, in addition to black and grey, I have been moving into a lot of colored pieces, using ink. I now predominately create pop art portraits.I have completed several levels of art classes throughout high school, and then a few community art classes. Outside of these classes, I'm largely self-taught.I have a very open attitude to inspiration, and I seek it from all sorts of sources: anything that's new and trending, or items that are "old school" and classic. I observe what people are gravitating towards. I watch films. I read. I think about the conversations that I have with others. All of these are sources of inspiration to create.In July 2018, I started sharing my artwork on social media, and started receiving inquiries to purchase. With increased demand, I launched a website, and Instagram and Facebook accounts. Since then, over 500 pieces have been sold.
