The Township of Jerome was organized on March 12, 1821. In 1854, the population of the township was 1,249. The 2010 census found 7,541 people living within the township. Jerome Township is one of fourteen townships within Union County, Ohio. There are three local school districts within the township including Dublin City, Jonathan Alder SD, and Fairbanks SD. Established by the Board of Trustees in 1991, Station 210 provides fire/life safety protection, advanced life support and hazardous materials response to area residents. Today, 26 dedicated firefighter/paramedics serve on the front lines for the residents of a 36 square mile response area daily. The residents of Jerome Township originally approved a Zoning Resolution in the mid-1950s. As the Township grew in population, the Resolution was updated extensively in the early 1970s, and heavily amended in 2015. The Board of Township Trustees has also adopted a Comprehensive Plan, which is designed to guide the process of growth and development in the Township over time.Jerome Township offers a number of parks for anyone to enjoy. Whether you looking to have a picnic or just take a stroll around the pond, you will find that here. Glacier Ridge Metro Park includes: walking and bike paths, playgrounds, bridal trail, wet lands and nature education. Harry Wolfe Park includes: fishing pier, shelter house, baseball field, playground equipment, and basketball court. Ryan Memorial Park includes: playground equipment, basketball court and shelter house. The Jerome Township Community Room can be rented for parties, baby showers, meetings, and many other events. Available dates and rental rates can be found on our website. We have two active cemeteries, Jerome and New California. At this time, only Jerome Township residents are permitted to purchase cemetery lots.
