Jessica has been internationally recognised as one of the most influential role models of this generation. She is on a mission to create much needed awareness within society about the importance of Positive Body Image, Diversity & Inclusion.Born missing her left forearm, and then as a toddler, suffering horrific third degree burns to 14% of her body, Jessica didn't have such an easy start to life. Needless to say, growing up was tough for Jessica as she battled her inner demons in regards to her physical appearance. In a world where so much emphasis is placed on appearance, Jessica felt as though she simply wasn't good enough and didn't fit in. Low self esteem and an inability to accept herself unfortunately lead to a decade long struggle with bulimia, anorexia & depression.Yet her innate ability to push the boundaries saw Jessica excel in sport. Her sporting dreams were realised when she was selected to represent Australia at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens. Although Jessica retired from International Competition in 2007 she is still actively involved in the Paralympic movement. Now happier than ever Jessica shares her story simply with the goal of helping others realise that life is a journey and unless we have experienced a little sadness and heartache we often can't truly understand happiness – but when you have, you realise that happiness is a choice and an attitude, and it's up to us to make that choice for ourselves. Jessica's personal experiences inspired her to write a series of children's books to help educate people all over the world about the importance of inclusion and respect.
