It all started when I was trying to meet other expectant mothers in my neighborhood who might have an interest in walking together. I quickly discovered that there weren't any tools available to easily connect with others. There are plenty of sites that post local events, but none that would allow me to plan a small, single event where I could meet some new people. Social networks seemed like an option, but traditional social networks are more about maintaining relationships with my current group of friends, and keeping those interactions online. So, how do you post an event to meet people nearby with similar interests? The answer: Jetivity.My husband and I put this site together to provide a free way to help you make new friends. Whether it's meeting fellow joggers in your area, the local party animals for a bar crawl, or if you just need a few extra players for your pickup game, Jetivity can help. We organized the site around events to make it easy to find people with similar interests and get to know them in a fun environment.One of the things we personally value is privacy online. We don't like the idea of having to provide your real name, address, social security number, blood type, breakfast cereal preferences, or any other really personal information just to sign up for a website. So none of that information is required to use the site.
