Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI) is a top application-oriented research organization and a high-tech investor in China, which was founded in 2013 by Jiangsu Province to promote industrial technology research and the commercialization of advanced scientific results. Since its establishment, it has created state-of-the-art institutional mechanisms facilitating technology transfer and discovered new channels for transforming scientific and technological achievements into tangible products. JITRI has established 58+ specialized research institutes in the fields of advanced materials, nanotechnology, laser and optoelectronics, energy, environmental protection, information technology, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, etc., with around 10,000 R&D personnel in total. JITRI and its partner enterprises in Jiangsu province have co-established 130+ Joint Innovation Centers, tasked with gathering industry needs, identifying technical gaps and funding research projects to bridge these gaps. JITRI has thus far incubated 760 high-technology enterprises, and has transformed more than 4,500 technologies into commercial innovations.
