Johi Organization for Rural Development and Natural Disaster (JORDAN) is a not-for-profit, nongovernmental organization, registered under the Societies Act, 1860 with registration No. 4073,working formally with local communities, Civil Societies, International/National NonGovernmental Organizations (I/NGOs) Governmental Organizations (GOs), and the Corporate sectorsince 2002.JORDAN came into being by local human development activists. After a period of around elevenyears, it has established itself as a professional human development organization, committed toundertake indigenous rural development and humanitarian activities. To date, JORDAN isengaged in the development of its communities through capacity building, and knowledgeenhancement.JORDAN believes tourism activities are considered to be one of the major sources of economicgrowth. It can be supported as a mechanism of generating employment as well as income inboth formal and informal sectors; it highly supports reducing poverty in a marginalizedcommunity. On the other hand, rapid economic growth in developed economies attracts touristsalong with foreigners' which leads to an increase in the economy of local people.JORDAN is also involved in service delivery activities on the basis of immediate community needs.In this respect, the primary focus of JORDAN is to provide a conducive environment for overallhuman development in the rural area of Pakistan.JORDAN has been working extensively for 1)Primary Health and basic reproductive healthservices, 2) Education,3) Food Security 4)Disaster Risk Management 5) and Promote totourism, culture, and Heritage.The experience of JORDAN under each themeis quite rich and has gained the reputationamong the communities as a representativecivil society organization in the project intervention areas.
