Nonprofit Organization Management - Amman, Amman Governorate, Jordan
Jordan Heritage has become an authority on heritage in Jordan after a journey of six years producing over 700 research posts on its website with millions of reads and impressions on social media, 40+ heritage galleries and exhibitions, 2 heritage documentary film festivals, the one of a kind heritage library, a radio show and more. So much so that the King Abdullah II Fund for Development hired it as the research consultant for a matter of agricultural heritage with national development implication. In the six years Jordan Heritage has span off multiple heritage elements into sustainable touristic products with value added and that is the core of this proposal. Some of those are:• The authentic cuisine into Jordan Heritage Restaurant with a second branch and a café • The hospitality practices into a motel• The agricultural preservation traditions into shelved products in the Jordan Heritage Shop• Cultural traditions into Jordan Heritage Experiences now online on DTPs and tour operator databases • Musical heritage into two bands (dance and music) with over 30 performances• Heritage designs into a virtual store called Jordan Heritage Wahad (delayed launch due to COVID-19)• Archeological heritage into 12 virtual reality sites• Heritage documentation historic photos into tens of photo galleriesJordan Heritage was and still is predominantly a youthful organization with an average age of 27. When it was first founded it targeted history, sociology and tourism students in Jordan University and saw most of them through to higher education certificates. After its first funding through the King Abdullah II Fund for Development, the first Jordan Heritage Photo Gallery was born and part of the funding was to provide technical and on-the-job training for university students to treat photos, print, and display them before operating the tour guiding and management of the gallery; a project that remained operating for a couple of years after handover.
