Nonprofit Organization Management - Louisville, Colorado, United States
Journey Outreach - was established in 2004 with a vision to provide Journeywork to children in South Africa living in orphanages and/or with AIDS, as well as those who have suffered the hurt and pain of violence and sexual abuse. The Journey in the Classroom is now our largest program and children in over 2000 classrooms worldwide have found personal freedom, love and healing. A study completed with 4700 South African children showed that by just doing a 30-45 minute Classroom Journey process once a week, the number of students that passed increased by 50%. We have seen similar results with students all over the world, including reports of fewer referrals and less absenteeism.Since 2004 we have grown to provide services for shelters, prisons, orphanages, hospitals, and disadvantaged communities; helping those affected by disasters, suicidal tendencies, substance abuse, life-threatening diseases, cultural suppression, and mental or emotional abuse. The purpose is to promote emotional, behavioral and physical wellness, along with self esteem and empowerment. This is primarily accomplished through community outreach and educational programs delivered in partnership with other organizations serving populations in need. Journey Outreach has regional offices in Africa, Australasia, and North America supporting programs in Australia, Botswana, Canada, China, India, Kenya, Mexico, Namibia, New Zealand, South Africa, Tanzania, and the United States.
